The aim of FOCUS (The Fibre Optics Club of The University of Sydney) is to gather people from engineering and science to share their interests, experiences and knowledge at several social events. The social calendar consists of day trips to engineering and research centres, frequent BBQs, Liquid Nitrogen Chilled Ice Cream Day in the middle of winter, as well as the end of year Christmas Party.
Originating from the OFTC (Optical Fibre Technology Centre), FOCUS has vital links to the university’s research centres and industry fields, essential for future ambitions. Overall it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, both students and lecturers, in a relaxing environment.
